Gentile da Fabriano was an Italian painter who worked in Florence at the same time period as Masaccio at the Vatican. It was in the year 1423 that he painted the altarpiece known as Adoration of the Magi, which is widely regarded as one of the most outstanding examples of the International Gothic painting style. The Uffizi Gallery in Florence is the current location where it may be found. One of the goals of the painter is to create a beautiful and sparkling environment as well as an artistic impact that is decorative. Drawing in perspective space is something he has experimented with, and the artwork demonstrates vision, the center ground, and close range. The depicted people include the monarch, who is clad in elegant attire, as well as courtiers and servants, as well as animals such as horses, cattle, and sheep. Exquisite and wonderful are the colors that are used across the whole of the artwork, which includes the people, animals, and surroundings. The purpose of this is to beautify and eulogize the religious thoughts of the aristocracy toward the Virgin Mary and Jesus. In reality, this represents the luxurious scene of knight etiquette that existed throughout the medieval centuries. The influence that foreign and Sienese schools have had on the art of Gentiles is seen by the work known as Adoration of the Magi. Fabriano’s painting style is a combination of the different styles that emerged throughout the Renaissance. According to this piece of literature, the three Magi are now on their approach to the huge gathering that will take place with the Virgin Mary and Jesus. It is clear from looking at this image that all of the people are dressed in clothes that are both magnificent and lovely. One of the most prevalent topics that can be seen in artworks from the Renaissance period is the adoration of the Magi. It is said in the Bible that the Magi are notified that the new king of the Jews would be born by studying the stars at night. As a result, they make a hasty journey to Jerusalem in order to perform their pilgrimage. King Herod the Great becomes aware of the situation, and he gives instructions to three Magi to notify him of the kid’s location once they have learned it. After that, he decides that he wants to pay a visit to the infant personally. Three Magi, guided by the constellation, are able to locate the Virgin Mary and the child Jesus as they search for them. Gold, frankincense, and myrrh are the three gifts that the Magi present to the Virgin Mary and the Child. These gifts are very valued at that historical period. Gold is a symbol of precious confidence, frankincense is a symbol of consecrated devotion, and myrrh is a symbol of the mind that is suffering.
