The vegetables can then be added to the pan, and if you so choose, you may also add an eight-ounce can of water chestnuts; however, you should first drain the liquid. Cook for about five more minutes while stirring and tossing the ingredients. During the time that the meal is being prepared, combine eight ounces of chicken broth with two to three teaspoons of cornstarch and whisk until the mixture is completely dissolved and there are no clumps left. The cornstarch slurry should be added to the pan, and consistent stirring should be done until the sauce becomes thick and the vegetables are cooked. For this recipe, it could take five minutes, but if you quadruple the ingredients, it will take much longer.
