Within a space of fifty square meters, Manoj Patel’s design studio, which has won several awards, lends wings to the goals of a new design business. The studio is home to six staff and a lead architect. Architect Manoj Patel designed his studio in Vadodara with ventilation and openness as the primary architectural considerations. He does this by juggling space in an unconventional way. Despite the fact that areas flow into one other without any defined borders, a casual attitude is promoted. However, the spaces still maintain their distinctive nature. It is possible to accomplish several roles by using the same space. One example of this is the library that also serves as a discussion room. While maintaining the much-needed privacy and seclusion to the chief architect’s cabin at one end of the small office, vertical louvres on the windows and colorful vertical box-like contraptions screen the spaces in between. This allows for a visual connection to be maintained throughout the entire office. Within the footprint of fifty square meters, there is a cabin for the head architect, as well as a front office that includes workstations, a vestibule, a study, a pantry, and a bathroom. As visitors are captivated and energized by the many colors that were utilized to create the lively and energizing atmosphere of the workplace, glossy and matte finished blocks spin around their horizontal batons with the purpose of creating a sense of excitement. The very peculiar finishing material that lines the walls and the ceiling is made up of sheets that have been corrugated. In addition to imparting a sense of character and tranquility to these work places, it is painted with colors of curacao. The ventilation and day lighting of the workplace are accomplished by the use of screens that have vertical louvres that play a game of peek a boo. This is done in addition to the creative use of material and color. The burning of the midnight oil, which is frequent in an architectural workplace, is addressed with spotlights that are mounted on scissor extensions that can be adjusted. The studio offers a working environment that is conducive to collaboration, creativity, and overall well-being. It is a place where boundaries are dissolved while being respected for individuality. Not only does the design represent their design ideas, but it also displays their integrity in the workplace.
