The interior architects at i29 create a home that is simple and subtle, using a minimalist palette. They construct the whole house around a single feature that is positioned in the center of the house… The unconventional way in which a straightforward two-story house in Amsterdam was constructed stands out. i29 interior architects, who are well-known for their design acumen and their skills in combining simplicity and contradiction, have recently validated this very competence in the process of building this residence. There were a lot of rooms in the rental apartment, but there was very little sunshine. The place lacked personality. Using the straightforward notion of allowing an abundance of natural light to enter the rooms, the architects have redesigned them and adorned them with a minimalist palette consisting of wood wall panels, white plastered walls, dark blue furniture pieces, and light grey synthetic flooring. A wall cabinet that is built into the wall stands out as the focal point of the house since it efficiently organizes the living room, kitchen, and dining area all in one enormous gesture. A custom-designed kitchen that can be concealed behind two big sliding panels is one of the many purposes that are included into this piece. Other uses include storage space, a television cabinet, and a unique kitchen design. The area is delineated by a kitchen island that is a contrasting black color and a huge, high table that is positioned in the center of the room. Additionally, the space is marked by furniture items that are in black and dark blue tones, which contrast with the bright and airy space. A design vocabulary that is consistent throughout the rest of the apartment is maintained by the level above, which has two bedrooms and a bathroom that are decorated in an all-white color scheme and are complimented by rough wood flooring.
