It is only through the experience of seeing Claude Monet at Giverny that one can have an understanding of his personality, his interests in life, and his inner universe. Gustav, Gustav’s buddy and biographer, wrote about him. In 1883, the family of Claude Monet relocated to the hamlet of Giverny, which was located between Paris and Rouen. Next, he began the process of constructing a garden. In reference to this garden, he made the following statement: “This is my greatest effort.” This location served as his last refuge, and he resided here for a total of 43 years. The series of oil paintings known as Water Lilies consists of over 250 individual works. The majority of these were finished when Monet was working in the garden at Giverny. Monet’s flower garden was shown in those paintings in a variety of various settings. It is difficult to imagine that Claude Monet was suffering from cataracts at the time when several of the works were being created. Throughout his garden, he experimented with a variety of various ways to organize the light impact. As a result, the Water Lilies series emerged in a variety of different positions. As a result of the contrast between the hues of brilliant yellow, orange, and vermilion, the paintings Water Lilies seemed to be a ball of fire that was getting out of control. Strong strokes that resembled a whirlwind enhanced the impression of the flame ascending distortedly amid the clouds of lilies, so displaying a visual universe that was reminiscent of a dream. This particular location did not include any water lilies but rather a black oval plate that was accented by brilliant strokes. Light and color were the only things that were caught by the brush; there was no trace of space. There were museums all around the globe that displayed the works of Claude Monet. In the 1920s, France began the process of constructing two circular chambers in order to accommodate eight water lily paintings painted by Claude Monet. On top of that, visitors have been able to visit the exhibition ever since 1927. In 1999, there was yet another show that had more than sixty paintings of water lilies that were gathered from all around the globe. The water lily paintings that Monet created were quite precious. One of these paintings was sold for a substantial amount of money in 2007, amounting to £18.5 million, while another one was sold for a price of £41 million in 2008. In the year 1889, Monet started his career as a serial painter. He made and exhibited a series of paintings depicting various topics, and the series of Water Lilies was, of course, one of those series. Monet’s paintings of water lilies were widely considered to be the most renowned and acclaimed works of the 20th century. These paintings had a significant influence on a number of painters that came after them.
