On September 7th, the music video will be released to the public, and on September 10th, the song will be broadcast on radio. On August 31, 2018, in Los Angeles, California — It is with great excitement that Americana artist Amilia K Spicer announces the official release of “Harlan” as her third single from the album “Wow and Flutter.” Spicer has been on the road for a whole year, performing all across the United States. On September 7th, the music video will be released to the public, and on September 10th, the song will be broadcast on radio. With the release of “Harlan,” Spicer has made his third attempt at directing music videos for this album. He has once again collaborated with his production partner, Edward Romero, to produce and shoot the music videos. The emotional trip that Spicer takes to the site where her father was born is shown in the film, which includes footage from Harlan and rural Pennsylvania, the state in where Spicer spent her youth. Vacant lots and abandoned structures are transformed into agricultural settings with a golden tint, resulting in a fusion of landscapes representing both types. She croons, “I am aware of what I am unable to see.” There has been a dove-tailed swallow following me around. Take these two parts and combine them into one. I am unable to go there, and I am unable to outrun it. Lyrics written by Spicer are replete with vivid imagery and admissions of sensuous desires. As she sings about her dreams being “full with waltzes,” describes the whiskey coursing through her as being “like Mississippi mud,” and recalls the sound of “a violin playing in a child’s chamber,” the scenes provide a crystal clear peek into her feelings of nostalgia. Spicer went to Harlan to shoot the song video, and while she was there, she looked for her father’s house. However, she discovered that the location she was looking for was a lot that was mainly empty. “I was wandering about,” Spicer says, “and I spotted something shining in the mud.” I now own a number of bits of coal, which turned out to be numerous pieces. It is true that a lump of coal may be a lovely present at times. What American Songwriter Magazine noted about “Wow and Flutter” holds true in “Harlan,” which is that it is “a timeless brand-new Americana classic.” On September 7th, “Harlan” will arrive. Introducing Amilia K. Spicer: Spicer’s third release, Wow and Flutter, is the most recent album that Amilia K Spicer has released. It is a triumphant record. 2017 saw it appear on a number of best-of lists at the end of the year. It is possible that Spicer’s “don’t cage me in” mentality is the reason why she continues to exude an air of mystery, despite the widespread praise she has received (also the name of her record label). Spicer spends her time not just performing, but also traveling (most recently to Tibet and Bhutan), exhibiting her photography, and directing and producing independent films. Throughout the course of 2018, Spicer had several performances within the Americana festival circuit. She performed a full band performance at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas and the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Oklahoma, both of which were attended by a large number of audiences. In addition, she has given more personal performances in locations all throughout the United States, such as the 30A Songwriters Festival, which took place in January. Tour dates for Amilia K.
