I’ve always had a knack for remembering details and I’m a bit of an explorer. and I have a propensity to form memories in conjunction with significant pieces of music. For instance, I was in the third grade when the Beatles made their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. I was sitting at my computer when an assignment came in that there was/is a hot artist of whom must be listened to name anthony alongi and his project tranzducer. I remember that I was driving my silver semi-sportscar through my hometown when I accidentally bought david bowie’s new 8-track album “the rise and fall of ziggy stardust.” I was supposed to write a review for an album with the aforementioned name that was titled “play forward.” When I hear someone use “a new term,” which prompts me to want to check it up, I have a tendency to be dubious. Was this some kind of trick? Was there any chance that this person might turn out to be a good artist? As it turns out, not only is he a fantastic musician, but this musician has not just pushed the boundaries, but the whole office supply store as well. I distinctly recall having such feelings the very first time I heard “white winds” and “dancing with the lion” by Andreas Vollenweider, and I continue to have those feelings even after twenty years have passed. Decades later, a large number of bands and/or solo artists, such as portishead and the mars volta, had or currently have the vollenweider sound. However, the most shocking discovery was how much farther tranzducer pushes the boundaries of what is possible. The song is built entirely on electronica at its core. In point of fact, the word “transducer” comes from the verb “to convert energy.” Anthony does behave in this manner all the time. In point of fact, none of us ordinary mortals realized it could be extended to such a length until it was brought to this point. “flame of glory” is an example of his remarkable power in experimenting that succeeds. It is a true jamaican reggae rhythm that is done entirely in the area of electronica. When I was listening to many more tunes from the album, I thought back to the years when I had first heard electronica. Even though Vollenweider is from Switzerland, I’m very certain that his training (or at least part of it) was received in the United States. Unless I’m mistaken, I’d say the sound is as western as it gets. However, using tranzducer, it is impossible to know for certain where the music originates, and it seems that Anthony did this on purpose when he launched the project. For example, just as I was certain that I knew “what would happen next” in a specific track, Anthony brings us into a whole new area that wasn’t there in the verse that was immediately before this one. The artist’s skill to “transform energy” had me laughing out loud more than once. I have a sneaking suspicion that you feel the same way. I am quite amazed by this brilliant new artist (and despite the fact that he is young, I sincerely doubt that he can be considered “new at this”). The music that emerges from his studio is on a level that is incomparably superior to that of even the most seasoned professionals. Enjoy the work of this fantastic artist. ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Anthony Alongi is the mastermind behind the musical project known as tranzducer, which is a fusion of wonderful music and (mainly) American electronica.
