Recently, a house for a bachelor was created by élitaire, a unit of the former dolphin company, which is situated in Delhi. The residence was designed by combining modern sensibility and originality, with some suave touches tossed in for good measure. preeti rao, the creative head of élitaire, was tasked with creating a striking home within the 4,500 square foot surajkund penthouse. He has taken advantage of natural light, good ventilation, and breathtaking vistas of the Aravalli hills by strategically replacing the original doors with glass doors and through the use of bay windows for enhanced views and ample sunlight. Whites, grays, and yellows in warm tones make up the color palette of the house, which has clean lines and a modern design. The fundamental arrangement of the residence is also contemporary. With accents of eclecticism that merge items from several periods into a welcome whole, the living-dining area, foyer, entertainment room, and master bedroom (two rooms integrated into one) all exude an air of spaciousness. There are intricacies in every nook and cranny, including walls with a texture similar to snakeskin, meticulous tile work, and luxury upholstery, as well as industrial furniture and décor that is odd but useful. Individual pieces evoke memories of bygone eras. For example, traditional button-tufted sofas, nesting tables, distress-finish cabinets, and vintage up-lighters compete for attention with contemporary rectangular ceiling lights, textured walls, wooden flooring, and white-striped walls. The tables feature a distinctive touch of kitsch, and barber chairs and bright cushions create an appeal that is reminiscent of retro and kitsch. Not only do the light fixtures, which include rectangular ceiling lights, delicate hanging lamps, and dramatic chandeliers, take on the allure of an installation, but they also create lovely nooks and corners in addition to establishing the atmosphere via their presence. Due to the presence of furniture with an industrial finish, both the foyer and the dining room radiate an air of ruggedness and masculinity. Having “a contrast of power and delicacy; minimalism and eccentricity, giving an exceptional modernity that endures the test of time” is one of the charming qualities that this contemporary but amusing bachelor pad has.
