Learning of your own accord, written by Marvel Lawson Students often expect their teachers to show them how to achieve success; nevertheless, self-directed learning is the most effective method for determining one’s capabilities and available options. It is the responsibility of the educator to explain conceptual frameworks to the class. The role of the student is then to take the concepts, organize them into their respective cubes, and figure out what the implications of those concepts are. Learning is made more valuable because of the mental process that pupils go through while they are doing it. It is the perspectives of others that give rise to new lines of thinking. Sadly, both the educational system and society as a whole work together to stifle the initiative and originality of today’s children. Students acquire the ability to fit in. It is a relic of the industrial revolution, along with the need to conform to expectations. Students are lined up like cattle on a conveyer belt and instructed to do as they are told and conform to the group in order to avoid creating a disturbance. The issue with this is that if pupils merely do what they are taught and don’t think for themselves, the likelihood of them developing anything new or finding something new decreases with time. This is because they are not using their own critical thinking skills. What we need to be doing to encourage kids to do is looking for different approaches to practically everything they undertake. This does not need a shift in our current practices; nonetheless, we should be aware that there are a variety of approaches to each and every aspect of our work. There are many possibilities since there are countless individuals who can come up with them. If we think of a wide variety of approaches to a problem and share our thoughts with one another, we may improve the quality of our thinking and perhaps come up with some novel and intriguing strategies that are also practical. no longer should we think outside of the box, but instead we should bring the ideas of other people into our own boxes and examine them through the lens of our own unique personal perspective. After all, our own vision is the only lens through which we may see the world and everything in it. We need to have the understanding and operate from the perspective that just because something has always been done a particular way does not indicate that it should always be done that way. This is something that we need to grasp and work from. We need to put some thought into this and be innovative. Thinking is innate to the human species. We are thinking. That is the kind of work we do. We are unable to refrain from thinking. People who say things like I simply don’t want to think for a long” never cease to astound me; I have no idea how they pull that off. I believe that our minds are continually engaged in some activity; at the very least, I hope that this is the case. We never stop thinking about anything, even if it’s something as inconsequential as the weather. When we are relaxing, our minds are probably in the best possible state to generate new ideas. When we give our brains the freedom to wander, it’s astonishing what they can come up with on their own. Because our mind has so many thoughts, it is impossible for us to keep track of them all consciously. Even if we are unconscious, it does not imply that our brains are not processing tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of ideas every single second. Our brains are always working to make sense of the information they get from our five senses, and then they run that information through the sixth sense, which is perception. If we do not possess that sixth sense, none of our other senses will be of any use to us. This is what deciphers and retains all of the information that is constantly being thrown at us twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. When we look at anything, our minds only register a small subset of what our eyes really take in; nevertheless, our eyes can see everything. The way in which our thoughts are focused determines the things that come into our awareness. On the other hand, we pick up on a lot more than we give ourselves credit for. This holds true for all of the other senses as well. … hearing…… We take in everything, yet only a select few noises register in our conscious awareness. The same is true for our senses of smell, taste, and touch. Our perception is what brings the information together into a coherent whole that can be comprehended and used by us. ### ?
