An envelope made entirely of black is used in a design that investigates the unexpected in the retail sector. In this design, the material, the lighting, the details, and the experience all become ambulatory. Conviction is a new idiom that stands in for many others. Shanwei Weng and Jiadie Yuan, both designers, are together working toward the goal of replacing inertial thinking with innovative alternatives. They were awarded the most sought global interior of the year 2016 at the inside festival, and they have received a great deal of praise for their unconventional approach to the design of the Heike fashion brand concept store in Hangzhou Shi, China. Situated on the second level of a furniture shop, the heike concept store, which is accessed by a centrally positioned small staircase, is conceptualised as a dark and obtrusive volume that functions as a retail outlet as well as a gallery for exhibits and events By interpreting the stairs approach to heike as a simultaneously disguised and improved sculptural black block, the designers figuratively put “words on a blank page.” They do this by often referring to design in relation to the fifth estate. The route from the ground to the first floor is included into this huge slanted wedge, which is known as the “black cant.” It separates because it connects and includes the passageway. In addition, it can accommodate the stock areas and the fitting room inside its boundaries. This wedge, which is responsible for establishing the mood of the interior architecture, is accompanied with geometric forms that are cutting and adjunct geometric shapes, simple furniture, and a wide variety of materials including concrete, steel, aluminum, and mirrors all throughout the space. Eloquent indicators of workmanship are shown via the use of a variety of textures, which contrast matte and shining surfaces. All of these surfaces are in shades of gray and black, and they are all distinct. The raw concrete construction, which contrasts with the polished flooring; the steel window structures and hangers; the highly black marble dust finish; and the polished metals are some further instances. The purpose of this conceptual poem is to provide an original example of interior design for an independent fashion business. It is a spatial experiment. It is said that “it throws into question the traditional concept of a fashion retail shop,” as written on the inside. Please visit indiaartndesign.com in order to see the photographs of the shop.
