Captivating, but most all, intelligent, the < project clearly displays the rich and perceptive contribution arising from the tremendous cooperation between architect Jean Verville and his clients… The rehabilitation of this A-frame is a reflection of the strategy that the architect takes, which is to approach the essence of his customers' everyday lives and then help them to examine their daily routines as well as their actual family requirements in order to overcome their own limitations. As Ar. Jean Verville continues his contemplations on the transgression of standardization in cramped residential settings, he presents the work titled "." The architect chose to remove floor areas in order to improve the quality of the space, which was a challenge to the original idea that there was a shortage of space throughout the building. The living space is reduced from 88 square meters to 64 square meters by making extensive use of the densification of spaces. This results in the living space being both compacted and fractured, stratified and unimpeded. The language of , which is of a graphic nature, resulting in a trigonometric poetry. It combines the iconic A-frame triangular figure with the expression of geometric shapes in order to provide an internal drive to the project, all while preserving a supposed minimalist character. The power that emerges from the premise imposes pictures that prevail over reality in order to carry us into an unlimited realm, which is the land of the imagination. The home, which was constructed in the 1960s on a picturesque location in the Laurentians, has the distinctive appearance of an A-frame structure. The architect takes advantage of the triangular structural form, rejecting the monotony of a pre-established spatial organization, in order to develop a new layout that provides a relaxing feeling for this family retreat away from the urban frenzy. The interior has been demolished, and the structure has been completely cleared from the inside. There is a rhythmic pattern that emerges from these selections, which leads to a compact spatial conditioning. This conditioning provides the therapy with balance and coherence, and it offers far more in terms of quality than it does in terms of quantity. The living room, which is exposed to the natural environment, is next to a small kitchen area that benefits from increased space clearance from the stairs as well as the double height of the building. An enormous storage platform is located under the beds in the girls' den, which is always ready to greet visitors. Additionally, there is a reading nook that is set in a triangular alcove. The girls' den is both playful and glittering. Located away from the living areas of the ground floor, this room, which is completely made of wood, exposes a wonderful location that is only devoted to playing games that are appropriate for children. Ingeniously using scales, the architect is able to enhance the illusion of visual depth by utilizing limitations and openings to depict a portion of the density of this space. This is an admirable achievement. The master bedroom has a window that is situated on the floor, which not only makes the kitchen area below more light, but also provides a glimpse of the lake from the bed, so maximizing the views of the natural environment that is all around the bedroom. A visual volumetric whole that is united by black is redrawn by the architect, who switches his mathematical thinking outside of the building. Subtraction performed to the four elevations creates new apertures that point in different directions, sometimes toward the sky and sometimes toward the lake, in order to have a more meaningful conversation with the terrain. An architect named Jean Verville creates intimate portraits that illustrate the personalities of their occupants as their close collaborations. These portraits have received a significant amount of international diffusion and numerous prizes, including an Award of Excellence from the Quebec Order of Architects and an international AZ Award in 2017. Other awards include significant international diffusion. His projects are infused with exciting photographic concepts, in which the presence of a symbolic figure gives a new way of appreciating architecture. He does this by entering his projects. Ar. Jean Verville offers a performance that involves a variety of mediums, including architecture, installation, and scenography. The potential of hybridization between the arts and architecture, as well as the influence that these hybridizations have on the process of architectural production, are of particular interest to him.
