Manila will play home to the annual MIS@Asia Conference, which will be held on September 4 and 6, 2013. The conference will be hosted by FILSCAP, which stands for the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Inc. The affiliate societies that are using the MIS@Asia (Music Information System) distribution system will be present at the conference that will last for three days. These societies include FILSCAP (Philippines), COMPASS (Singapore), IPRS (India), VCPMC (Vietnam), and MCT members (Thailand). As a result of the signing of agreements with iTunes and Google (YouTube) earlier this year regarding the payment of performance royalties, the conference that will take place this year will center on digital distribution. This particular meeting will be of the utmost importance for member societies in the process of putting in place an effective and responsive digital distribution system to accommodate the demands of the new media. This is because Digital Distribution is a new addition to the royalty pools that are being distributed by the MIS@Asia societies.
